Strawberry Freezer Jam

This is what I was doing at 7:15 am this morning......

Strawberry Picking!!

I got home about 9:00 am and was ready to start making the jam!  For the past 3 years, I've been trying to go strawberry picking!   I can remember going as a kid with my mom, my Aunts, and all of my cousins.  It's been years since I've been strawberry picking!  Last night, I told my husband I'm going strawberry picking.  I put my mind to it and that was it!  I left the house at 7:00 am and arrived at the strawberry patch about 7:15ish.  It was perfect day to go it was in the upper 70's and when I arrived there were only 3 other people already picking.   It was getting really busy when I left so I'm glad I went first thing this morning.

Freezer Jam Preparation
I had a little helper this morning ;)

wash your strawberries

My little helper helping cut the stems off~ with of course her Tinkerbell knife ; )

So excited to be helping!   Maybe next year I will be daring and take her with me ?!

My Masher - she said "I'm a really good Masher"

Strawberries all mashed - good job Lilly!

I used the Sure Jell recipe in the box - you can see a picture of the Sure Jell package in the photo above.

Recipe
4 pt. strawberries
Discard Stems and crush

You will need 5 cups of the mashed strawberries
7 cups sugar
*makes about 8 cups.

You will find the cooking instructions on the inside of the Sure Jell box.  If my carpal tunnel wasn't bothering me today I would type the instructions out but right now my hand is going numb!  I hate carpal tunnel!  =(
